We have visited this very nice restaurant and couple of times and we have been fortunate with the weather so we have been able to eat in the little enclosed courtyard with views over the marina . The owner who I think is called Jim is the most decent and genuine guy you could ever meet and along with his wife they really do pull the stops out for you ! The restaurant looks fabulous and all areas are spotless . We had lunch today I had a cheese Omelette which comes with a nice salad and chips I opted for extra mushroom and the taste and presentation was epic! Elaine had an egg mayonnaise baguette with salad and chips and again a great meal . We asked if we could leave the car and we had a walk down the canal and after an hour we returned for coffee and a cream scone yummyPlease note ALL food ordered is freshly cooked so non of this frozen pub rubbish . I would highly recommend .

Looks a bit unassuming from the outside, like it isn't a restaurant but don't be put off! The interior is very restaurant style (diamond cut glasses, tables set with linen table cloths) and the first thing you notice is the view! The staff were so welcoming and kind and the food was home cooked, fresh and delicious . I had already started tucking into my stroganoff before remembering to take the picture so it did come out looking better that that . Only a few benches outside but we got one easily so who cares, we will definitely be back thank you

We absolutely love it here. The food is out of this world, the desserts are so beautifully presented, the service is unbeatable (the hosts are so welcoming) and all with a view of the marina. What's not to love? Highly recommended

Imagine sipping your coffee while overlooking the serene marina, much like Andrew Greenough did, who savored a "lovely scone with jam & cream" on a beautiful sunny day. Such experiences are plentiful at The Moorings, where every meal is crafted with care and attention. Diners can indulge in deliciously home-cooked meals prepared from scratch, steering clear of the frozen offerings you might find elsewhere.

Michael Mulraney highlighted the inviting atmosphere, complemented by dishes that not only taste fantastic but also boast beautiful presentation. The cheese omelette, served with a delightful salad and chips, is a customer favorite, featuring flavor and freshness that shines through every bite. And let’s not forget about the extra mushroom—a thoughtful touch that elevates the dish even further.

The Moorings is not just about the meals; it embodies the essence of hospitality. As Paul Ryan shared, stumbling upon this gem felt like a stroke of fortune. The welcoming staff go above and beyond to ensure every guest leaves feeling valued and satisfied. It’s this genuine warmth that keeps patrons coming back for more, a sentiment echoed by Matthew Bell, who was enchanted by both the home-cooked meals and stunning desserts.
